Majestic Mt. Rainier stands bold over Seattle, with views from downtown on clear days. However, to grasp its full beauty, you must see it up close.
Breathtaking vistas of glacier-carved Mt. Rainier, waterfalls and alpine meadows await you on this 8-hour daytrip, along with awe-inspiring adventure on the Mt. Rainier Gondola. You’ll travel along the Chinook Pass Scenic Byway, experiencing old growth forests, towering peaks, spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and numerous streams, lakes and waterfalls. Delving into the Northeast side of Mt. Rainier National Park, we will also visit Tipsoo Lake- a wildflower surrounded spot of tranquility.
Crystal Mountain, a world-class summer and ski resort boasts the only mountain gondola in Washington. Journey up the Mt. Rainier Gondola to Crystal’s 6,872-foot summit for the highest, and most incredible, view of Mt. Rainier that exists. Purchase lunch on your own at Crystal, either in the famous Summit House Restaurant (call for reservations 360.663.3085) with panoramic views of Rainier and the Cascade Range from every window, or a gourmet barbecue on the base area sundeck. You can also pick up a box lunch and picnic while hiking one of Crystal’s many trails.
Mt. Rainier tours are only available as a roundtrip same-day tour. Gray Line of Seattle does not provide one-way transportation to the mountain.

Tour departs at 9:20am from the Gray Line of Seattle desk at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, downtown Seattle.

- Grand Hyatt Hotel: 8:50 am, 721 Pine St. Pick up on 7th Ave
- Crowne Plaza Hotel: 9:05 am, 1113 6th Ave. Pick up outside 6th Ave entrance to hotel
- Sheraton Hotel: 9:15 am, Please come inside and check in at our tour desk, inside the 6th Ave corner entrance to the hotel.
Mount Rainier Tours are non-refundable within the guidelines of our cancellation policy. Name, date, and time changes are considered cancellations and are not available for Mt. Rainier tours within the time frame of our cancellation policies. Cancellation 48 hours before tour date is non-refundable. 3 – 7 days, there is a $10.00 cancellation fee per person. Cancellations made more than 7 days out are fully refundable.
Please note: Gray Line of Seattle provides a high-quality sightseeing tour to Mt. Rainier. In order to ensure the level of service we wish to offer, we regret that we are not able to carry passengers to the mountain for the purposes of a multi-day hiking expedition. Large backpacks and hiking gear will not be allowed on our vehicle.
Please note: If you are coming to Seattle by cruise ship, please do not book this tour of your day of disembarkation as you will not be able to get off the ship in time to make the tour.
