An Environmentally Conscious Company
Gray Line of Seattle was recognized in 1998 by the Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development as a leader, innovator and success story, for its efforts to build an environmentally sound facility and maintaining and environmentally conscious operation.

Gray Line of Seattle spearheaded a Washington State Department of Ecology-approved, $1.5 million pre-construction site clean-up project for its new headquarters. The six-acre area, located in an industrial zone, now meets residential environmental standards. The area was previously contaminated with diesel fuel, bunker oil, lead and foundry slag from a former lumber company.

Environmentally conscious features of the facility include a motor coach washer/water recycler that reuses 95 percent of water used in wash and rinse stages; a radiant heating system that operates on recycled engine crankcase oil; and water-oil separators that gather run-off water from the parking lot.
